Hello. This is Shiho.
Today’s topic is “How to display the posts posted on Instagram onto Twitter”.
It seems like that most of Instagram users are also Twitter users, though those two apps are not well linked.
By using a software, which I am going to introduce today, you can use both Instagram and Twitter easier.
Now I am going to introduce how to display the posts posted on Instagram onto Twitter.
Some people might not understand what “Instagram and Twitter are not well linked” means.
Let me show you how the screen looks like when those two apps are “linked” on default settings.
I am going to post this photo on both Instagram and Twitter at the same time.
Of course, you can post it on Instagram without problems.
On Twitter, on the other hand, although the comment you posted is shown, URL is shown instead of the photo itself.
It is a hassle to click URL to open the photo.
The settings, I am now introducing, enables you to directly open the photo on Twitter.
How to display photos (not URL) on Twitter
We are going to use the software, called IFTTT, to link Instagram and Twitter better.
You can download from the following links. Let’s do it together.
Download IFTTT, and let’s get started!
Swipe to the left a few times
Put your Email address, and create your own password
Tap “Sign up”
This screenshot will be the first screen after you sign up
Put the key words “instagram twitter” in a search box, and find the above link
Tap “Turn on”
Tap “Authorize app”
IFTTT will automatically recognize your Instagram account
Check if it is your Instagram account
Read the sentences carefully, then tap “Authorize” if it is ok for you
Tick the box on the top right
You have finished the settings for better linking between Instagram and Twitter, using IFTTT.
Post a photo on Twitter through Instagram post
I am now going to post this photo of a dog on Twitter, through posting on Instagram.
It is how the screen looks like on Instagram. The photo, I want to display, is automatically shown on the screen.
What about on Twitter? Let’s have a look at the post on Twitter.
This is how the screen looks like on Twitter. The photo, I want to display, is automatically shown on the screen, just like on Instagram.
This proved that Instagram and Twitter are now well linked.
However, there is one thing to be careful of.
Please do not tap “Twitter” icon when you post something on Instagram.
This is the only thing you need to be careful of.
Without IFTTT, you can only show URL on Twitter even if you link Instagram and Twitter.
By using IFTTT, though the settings takes a little bit of time, perfectly linking Instagram and Twitter came true.
